iPhone 13 discussions

Not sure about MTN but iStore currently has 0 stock of 13 pro or pro max. Currently waiting list only, and they won't say when they're getting. Been on the list nearly 2 weeks and nothing yet.
One member was talking about scarcity in the market, Totally insisted most of the mobile phones are fakes

Yeah also in CPT. If you’re near the CBD try Digicape in Gardens. They seem to have more stock than iStore as mentioned here somewhere. Looks like I’m getting a Pro Max through them.

They have all the same deals as iStore, their trade values are a little lower and they don’t do the free iCare voucher though.

Signed up for waiting list about 3 weeks ago, if not 4. Got the sms yesterday that the stock has arrived and is being held for 48hours. iStore Sandton Drive

Grey 128GB Pro and Pro Max available locally. Is ProRes (4K) really worth the wait for a 256GB?

The first iOS update enabled ProRes on the 128, however if you actually plan on using it you may want to get the 1TB rather.

ProRes will tank 128gb fast

Yeah but that's ProRes 1080p, not 4K. If the 4K is amazing, then I'll wait for the 256GB instead.

You realise that ProRes 4K would completely fill a 256GB model in around 40 minutes? It's complete overkill for normal video.

And try transfer that over the USB 2.0 Lightning port... and wait a year for a 1 min clip to transfer!

ProRes is useless on a phone. I work in the film industry and we work with ProRes all the time.... I have the 13 Pro Max and tried the ProRes feature once... I will never use it again. A waste of data for no gain, unless in very specific professional video applications. It's just a weird flex for Apple to show off the A15 chip with no real world usage for the end user.

ProRes won't make your iPhone look like a cinema camera. It's just a high data rate compression algorithm designed for ease-of-use in professional NLE video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid or Final Cut.

And people using that software most likely own a professional camera.
