Major iPhone 15 feature cancelled

Solid-state buttons — a rumoured feature for Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 line-up — may no longer come to fruition, with an Apple supplier suggesting that the necessary components will be delayed.

According to MacRumors, a shareholder letter revealed that Apple supplier Cirrus Logic said a new product the companies had discussed surrounding Cirrus Logic's high-performance, mixed-signal (HPMS) segment wouldn't make it to market as planned.

Apple: "We can't deliver this high quality function so we'll cancel it and take the knock. Only the best for our family."

Everyone else: "Can't we source it cheaper somewhere else for our Android phone and just hope and pray it doesn't catch fire??"

Apple Accounting : "The price of these parts are ridiculous ! We'll never make 25% margin by putting in something this expensive! We need wait a few years until the prices drop .... @Marketing - make an excuse why we won't do it now. Pick from one of our usual reasons and they'll buy it, "

How's that when the first android came after the first apple and the apple had physical buttons?

It's a joke.

Every time Apple does something different; Android crowd are quick to say "Ah but Android had that x years ago"

Pointless argument either way. It isn't a race.

I think it's more a case of

Apple: we have not figured out how to software lock it so that we can decide when the buttons will stop working and you have to buy a new phone.

Just a reminder that Android had physical buttons first!

Just a reminder Android had exploding bombs masquerading as phones first.

Pointless post is pointless.

Also Apple had a home button before Android existed so I suppose pointless post is not only pointless but also incorrect. So pointless poster is deficient?

@Dolby - 25%? What is this? Margin for ants?

119%...
