Hate to break it to you, but megapixels don’t determine whether a camera is good or not. And iPhones don’t need enormous batteries because they’re efficient devices that don’t drop to 10% after 6 hours like other brands.
And if the screen gets any bigger, it’ll start moving into iPad Mini territory. Who the hell wants a screen that size on a PHONE?!
Dude I use a Hasselblad. Colour accuracy is what makes a camera phone great. Thats why you also pay more for an Arri Cam over a Canon Camera for video.
And then there are monitors. I dont use Samsung Monitors, I use Dell. You cant edit a photo with a screen that isnt perfectly calibrated for colour accuracy and brightness over the screen. Because turn that from a screen to a print, it needs to be spot on.
I have used both the Samsung and the Iphone and I prefer the latest Samsung. Its not just the mp which is great for zooming and cropping an image, but also the colour accuracy is a bit better.
Now I am not an Apple fanboy. For me its like watching Gill Bates on the Onion Movie. Apple always says its better than the previous model (no duh - its the latest), they always use multiplication to say how many times its better (makes you think, why did I buy the previous model) and so on. Wish they would drop that, but thats how they get fanboys to upgrade. Your previous model is junk, buy the new one. Go look at their launches if you dont believe me. You will see the Multiplication at each and every launch.
So Camera aside, the thing where Apple is very good at is its' ecosystem is great. Not just for connecting to other Apple things, but also for travelling and paying. Nothing yet out there beats Apple pay for convenience. And yes I have an Iphone which we use purely for that, and for using with trains abroad, and for airtickets, and travel passes. Nothing from Samsung has ever beaten that, and I dont think they ever will.
So yes I will criticize the camera, because quite honestly it can be better. And I certainly hoped the 16 would, but it looks like they are just reusing the Iphone 14 camera again which is dissapointing. And it looks like Apple has been hitting and missing with Siri, that should be ahead of Samsung, but yet its not entirely there. Live translate is pretty nifty, if you again do travel.
So if the specs of the Iphone 16 is that, I honestly wont bother. I would get the Iphone 14 Pro Max, because quite honestly, there is nothing worth upgrading to. It doesnt stand out. It would feel like they have run out of ideas.
And yes I was at the Blackberry Expo in Cape Town. Got invited. Didnt get a Blackberry testing phone because quite honestly I said their OS was rubbish, they werent too happy with it. BB OS 10 sucked. Why? Too complicated to swipe left then right then up then down. Their best OS from functionality was OS 7. Why? It wasnt complicated. In matter of fact IOS still has the same ease of use, and thats another reason the Apple Iphones clobbered BB. BB got paranoid and then decided to complicate rather than enhance something that worked.
