iPhone 16 Series

I’ve been reconsidering my decision to upgrade from my iPhone 12, to the iPhone 16 Pro. I might see what the difference is between the iPhone 16 and the 15 Pro and see if Apple UK drop the price a little of the 15 Pro. If they do I might just get that instead.

Will see what’s what next week.
Takealot is cheaper than the Istore by about 4-5K. Amazon.co.za was 2nd for pricing. Istore is about 31k plus. The black colour is cheapest, its about 28k for the others.

Lol Samsung doesn’t even feature in the top 10…

DxO isnt known for the best of reviews for photography. They try, but they arent really good or specialised at it, so its more their personal opinion.

Techradar will put the S24 Ultra 1st, Google Pixel 2nd and Iphone 15 Pro Max 3rd. Tom's guide will make Iphone 1st, Samsung 2nd, and Pixel 3rd.

Both are very American, so they are anti-Chinese.

Whereas the Xiaomi uses Leica lenses (which are the best in the business), and their cameras are very impressive. However Xiaomi doesnt really chip to the USA either (due to political reasons).

Except there’s no AI features in SA right now…

And yes the main benefit with the iPhone is that 9/10 shots will be rock solid…where sure Samsung might do a better picture 1/10 times but that’s useless.
Last I checked, the full scope of the AI features hadn't rolled out to anyone yet?

But we do know if you don't have a 15 Pro or beyond, you're out of luck when they do.

Apple is weird, the day they start selling the new phone the older Pro models are removed from sale. You’ll need to look at other retailers for cheaper deals.

I just noticed that Argos has already knocked £100 off the price.

Okay so it’s not just me. I checked on their site this morning and didn’t see the 14 Pro. I guess they want you to buy the latest bro.

Thanks ill check Argos again after release of the 16.

Very.co.uk is another one that runs discounted prices at times.

It’s in the Beta but blocked in SA at present.

So I fear the worst.

Hmm I was typing this as my Mac was updating to latest and only got the screenshot now...which actually changed in wording so I'm going to fiddle now but I suspect if I set it to American or hopefully UK it would work.

Also very odd my screenshot shortcuts are extremely unresponsive all of a sudden, maybe it's just spotlight indexing after the update.

Seems you just need to set Siri to US English and you're good.
No such luck. But the change in language makes me more hopeful we won’t be left out in the cold.

Message was very much “not available in your region” before.

I’d be amazed if AI has availability issues once it’s out of beta and the new iPhones have launched. It’s a major part of the product now and something rivals are going hard with.

What would really impress me is if they suddenly announced a thicker, almost indestructible generation of iPhones that don’t muck about with materials that break easily. I have found it so stupid all these years that iPhones are so beautiful and so breakable. And therefore ugly, stuck in phone cases. Ffs just give me something that doesn’t need a case.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised considering how many years they took to get Siri into the Apple TV in South Africa even when it was on the phones for ages and you had to hack your way around it.

Only when the HomePod Mini launched did it become available officially.

But yeah hopefully this is just Beta stuff and on D-day it all just works.

Okay turns out I was just working too fast and needed to give it some time probably to download stuff in the background.

Had to set both my System Language and Siri languages to US and now it popped up with a button to join the waiting list.

The wait list shouldn’t be more than a couple of hours, it took about 10 minutes when I did my phone.

Yeah, that would not make sense for me since I live in the UK now.
Idealo? maybe? Thats what my Ai tells me. Mozillion is the store. Not too familiar with it.

Amazon is cheaper than the Store Its about 907 pounds. Just about 50 pounds more.

In Dubai its 931 pounds for the same model. but Dubai isnt cheap ironically. Lambos seems cheaper than Iphones since they just abandon them.

The cheat code I found was to use an address in the US to register my Istore account, then there was a kid in cape Town selling US Itunes vouchers via his cousin in the US too.

Worked well. The US store had more items, and it would think I am an American living in SA.
