Can anyone take a guess when it'll come to SA?

Just interested because my girlfriend is about to buy an iPhone 3G on a 2 year Vodacom contract, and if the iPhone 3 comes out in 2 months that'll suck.

The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is on the 8th of June, and they'll officially announce it then... so not sure how long after that it'll go into production.

How long was the iPhone 3g available in the States before it came to SA?

Maybe it's still a years away..
 
Not quite years... iPhone 3G came out around June last year in the US, and we got it in October. Its possible we get the new one even sooner because the deal is already in place with VC, but then they might not want to release a new model within a year of the first one. Who knows... are you certain they're announcing a new phone at the WDC?

I think it's still a rumour that there will be new hardware, but they are releasing the new sofware at least.
 
It is inevitable... there are SOOOO many hints at it :) I might just pick one up

I'd say get the current iPhone only if you getting a good deal like the ones mweb are offering at the moment. Remember when the new one is released the pay in is going to be atleast R3k. I got mine free even if it's only the 8gig it's still the business and I highly recommend this phone :)
 
There is definitely a new iPhone guys.

It's going to be tradition from Apple that every mid-year a new model will be released.
 
iphone nano? Iphone classic? Ecellphone? Iphone you ? Just stick to Nokia guys :-)
 
Ok well let's see. New OS is certain, and they will announce some good stuff this year. Will certainly be tuned in for live updates.
 
when apple announce something they tend to release it pretty soon afterwards and normally (don't think ever ) announce something and then release it in three months or more. Don't bet on it having a lot of extra features though, maybe just a few "cosmetic" changes...
