Anyone know if the ADPT-024 adapter from Poynting will work with the iPhone 3G to get better reception?

I know someone who is out in the rural areas and they don't pick up 3G on their iPhone, but is willing to use a 3G external antenna, but needs to know if this adapter is compatible with the iPhone 3G.

WOW!! Just got a call from Poynting. I'm a bit shocked.

"What's an iPhone 3G? What does it look like? Is it a normal phone?"

WOW!!

Don't be nasty now....

Can't see why it won't work. But better get the best external antenna possible.

Real question is why though as the phone can't be (normally) used as a modem.

Seriously

It mainly stems from the unlimited data bundle AT&T offered. So it's a similar story to the BB. There are however a few apps floating around that will turn your iPhone into an AP and you can connect and surf through it over WiFi.
