iPhone 3G car audio

From what I understand, the fancy integrated systems to let you use your iPhone (3G) as an iPod over your car audio system, shuts down the phone to prevent interference.

What solutions are available locally to play music from my iPhone over my car radio while still being able to make and receive calls (using the wired headset, bluetooth or other integration)

Any radio with aux in.

My car comes standard with Aux in and when I get a call, it mutes the music and the caller comes through the speakers of the car.

mmm ... my car has the ipod/usb connection ... must try the iphone with it

It works like a charm. Basically becomes a hands free.
