Iphone 3G Recovery Mode....

Hi guys hope anyone can help.I bought a Iphone 3G 16GB and the phone fell out of my pocket.
Now the phone doesn't want to connect to itunes and is stuck in recovery mode or so I heard as the phone doesn't want to go past the Emergency Call screen.I have Version 9.1.1.12 itunes installed.

Have you tried taking out the sim card and then putting it back in, making sure it is secure?

Might also want to try the home button/power button trick.
