Hi everyone.

My iphone 4s was water damaged.
After leaving the phone in rice for a few days it worked fine. After few days of use it would no longer get reception, however everything else worked including wifi. So it was essentially an ipod touch. This is what I want to use it as now.

Here's my current problem. The phone has been reset and cannot be activated anymore. Both via itunes and wifi. I get a "device unknown" message. Is there anyway to bypass this activation stage?
The phone software was stock.

Any ideas or is the phone now just an expensive paper weight?

Thanks in advance.

There is no way to bypass that stage of the setup process.

Expensive paper weight seems like the only thing it's good for now.

Though, you could try taking it into a repair centre to see if they can fix it?

Thanks took it to iStore first and they were clueless. Then handed it over to a repair guy, hopefully he can fix it.

Yea the iStore would be clueless. Those "geniuses" aren't very smart when it comes to Apple products. Ironically.
