I have just came across this "iPhone" that looks similar to iPhone 4 that I own. I have also owned iPhone 3G so if this is a the iPhone that I have not seen it has to be iPhone 4S or newer or fake.

The phone looks, feels, and has the same shape and size of the iPhone 4. It does not have a battery so I don't know the features or kind of software installed. At the back it says, iPhone 64GB. One different thing about this phone and and the iPhone 4 is that is seems to take a normal size sim-card (not mico-sim like iPhone 4). When I place the phone next to each other the sim tray do not align. The silent button does not shift left and right like the iPhone 4 to show the red bar when switched to silence mode.

The reason I want to identify the phone, whether real iPhone of fake is that I want to find to buy the battery for it if any available.

The iPhone battery is not removable and it only takes a microsim. Why don't you post some pics of the fake?

there are no alternative shapes or designs for the iPhone 4. Anything else has to be a fake.

Fake, screen looks like 3 inches instead of 3.5 inches.

The proximity sensor is not aligned with the ear speaker.

Was in Thailand recently and saw iPhones on sale in street vendor for $200. So I said to the guy, "these must be fake" whereupon he replied immediately, "yes, but very good fake".

They did work and superficially looked like the real thing. He even called the local cell help desk so I could hear the sound from the speaker.

At the end of the day, it really comes down to the software on it. I've seen fake blackberries with more "Features" than the real deal, but they never have the real software on it. THAT is where things get bad, since you suddenly don't have BBM or things like that.

So likewise if the fake iPhone runs iOS 5 without hassles, and you have acess to the App Store and iTunes on your PC recognize your phone correctly, then the rest is least of your worries imho...

Irony is, alot of people buying these fake phones never realise they are not even using the real software, until one day they try to install a app ;)

It belongs to a friend, I have no idea how she obtained it. She said she lost the battery so I am trying to get one for her. Putting the phone to use will be better than letting it go to waste. ;)

How did you get the battery out?!
