iPhone 4s pre-registrations

Hey guys,

So I pre-registered with Vodacom for an iPhone 4s. I haven't heard anything from them. Just an sms to confirm my registration. Has anybody else who did the same hear anything?

Anybody register with MTN?

Just wondering what's happening out there!
 
Pre registered with Vodacom, just got a call to say stock will be available from the 15th, but they not sure how much?
 
I phoned the upgrades line and they said that the phone will be released on the 16th with preference given to those who preregistered. Haven't received any calls after preregistering.
 
I also pre-registered, mere minutes after it launched and still no call.
Phoned 2 vodashops, 1 put me on some localalized list and the other said they only getting it on the 20th.

They seem to be quite disorganized..

Haha my soul is up for sale too! Do you know if you're running from month to month, do you not need to give your current provider notice before you can port over? I'm on Vodacom month to month now but might want to change to MTN. I don't want to have to give Vodacom 30 days notice if MTN has a better deal on the 4s.

Unfortunately these issues are true; another symptom to add to the signal issue is that aside from the intermittently losing connection "Searching" it also ends up with an "Invalid SIM" error, many people have tried replacing theirs SIMs or replacing their phone which neither work.

The forums I quoted are Apple's public forums, the same complaints are also apparent on Apple's developer forums. Again as I am experiencing these issues and so are many other people worldwide, I caution you to rather wait to see if Apple can resolve this with iOS 5.1

/EDIT It's definitely fixed by iOS5.1 beta 2; since I upgraded from iOS5.01 my 4S has not lost signal even once + the battery is definitely improved :)

Thanks for the info but let's not hijack the thread, I am actually interested in feedback people received about their pre-registrations, not problems.

I just received a call from Vodacom. They wanted my details to generate a quotation. I was told that my phone will be sent to me as soon as the stock arrives. She says it should arrive somewhere between next week and the 23rd.

If that's true I will be quite happy!
 
Got an SMS from MTN earlier today confirming my registration. Says that handsets will be available from 16/12 and they will contact me soon.
 
Preregistered with MTN and Vodacom. Got the same SMS from MTN, heard nothing from Vodacom.
 
i just got a call and a quote, for 499 on a talk 120 with 250meg data ... thought they would have offered
better data with the new iphone 4s???

What price/contract did they offer?

MyMeg250 = R99.00
Talk 120s = R300.00

And they are quoting R499.00 .... ?

iPhone Talk 120s comes with 500M data ... = R450.00
