iPhone 5 a sure fire flop?

I've had five Apple devices, still have the iPhone 4 and iPad 3.

The 4 is just fine, I see no need to upgrade it. If I were to upgrade the Samsung Note 2 would probably get my vote.

Phones have reached the "it's good enough" stage. I think I'll rather go VC prepaid, then switch to Cell C and save myself around R10,000 over two years.

bwana, that headline is going to attract fandroids like... Oh, wait... I see what you did there. :D

I can't help but be amazed at those numbers. I wonder how many of those orders were from previous iPhone 4/4s users. It is starting to seem to me that Apple could release a cardboard box that can phone and they will sell MILLIONS!

Kinda puts the S3's 20 million in 100 days into a little perspective don'it?

EDIT: That response is good for AlphaJohn's post as well.

2 million sheep knocking one off in front of the pc whilst they pre order. Yeah that puts it into perspective.

No, Apple is correct... this is the fastest iPhone Apple has released ever.

It really is faster than any of the other iPhones Apple has released to date.

The iPhone5 is indeed faster than the iPhone4 and iPhone4s combined.

It should also sell faster than the other Apple iPhones did.

It is also without a doubt the best iPhone Apple has released.

No argument there... it is the fastest and best iPhone that Apple could have released to date.

/context is everything
/just ask the ANC
/perspective is all about the degree of context

Apple is like a religion, where as Android is like atheism, so an android user trying to argue with a apple user, is like telling a christian there is no god.

Uhm, it is a phone. A fast selling handset.

Let us not forget that it.is.a.phone.

I'll start by saying I'm an iPhone 4 user, and I intend buying a 5 on Friday. I haven't preordered because I want to see the colours in person before deciding.

But, it isn't really going to cost me much to do so, I got the most expensive phone I could as an upgrade 2 weeks ago, a lovely plastic fantastic Galaxy S3. I tried it for a week, just to see how much better it was than my old Galaxy S2 (it wasn't, other than a better camera).

I then sold the Galaxy S3 (I got £340 for it, UK pricing), and I've now been offered £250 for my iPhone 4. The 16GB iPhone 5 will cost me £529 (so in profit by £61) or £599 (costing me £9) for the 32GB.

In essence, a nice cheap upgrade ;)

Android seems more like a cult.

Bypass the exaggerated hyperbole.

It is a phone. Some people like it, others will not. Some people will want it more than others.

Kinda like most things in retail these days.
Shoes, jeans, cars.
Designed... built... marketed... sold.

Bought by you and I.

Cut the emotional hyperbole.

/Marketers are Satan
