Anybody else have their iPhone's black coating coming off...

I have always used a cover... but still have the black coming off.

Those who can please post some pics.

Could take some pics of how my phone looks even with using a bumper.

6 months for me and its still brand new. Did have a cover and screen protector from day 1 though

Mine perfect too, and thats using the most minuscule cover available, Ozaki 0.3 Jelly.

It's a known issue. Mine was in a cover but when I changed it saw that a few scratches. Must have been some dirt that got between the cover and the phone.

Mine looks virtually pristine.

It is the cover you are using. My first black iPhone 5 I had put a cover on from day one, took it off a few weeks later to notice chunks of the paint chipped away like yours in the pic (wasn't a cheap case either, was one of the R350 Xtreme mac cases). When I took off the cover I could see the exact pattern / places on the inside of the cover where the damage to my phone was.

When I got my replacement iPhone 5, i kept the original plastic on (cut the top where camera is and bottom) and used the same case again and there is no marks at all on the actual phone but you can see it on the plastic. Been shopping around for a new cover but haven't found anything yet.

So basically it is the cover you are using to protect your phone which in actual fact is destroying your phone!

Pretty ironic!

I've opted for a Knomo slip case with a soft inner rather than a bumper type case. So far no issues.

I also think it's the darn case... how did you get your one replace?

I had screen issues where the screen would flicker from time to time and was really annoying so I took it back and they replaced with a brand new one.

Ok I nothing like that with my one... but the Power button is sunken a little. It still works but if I have a bumper on it I cant access it as it no longer protrudes from the opening. Got rid of the bumper as I believe it was to blame for scratching the bezel on my phone.
