When Cell-C allow SIM cards other than those from their launch offer to use LTE and when Apple decide to roll out new carrier settings.Ok.... so when does the iphone 5 get LTE support on cell c?
So nobody knows....
So you saying the carrier settings are done by Apple and not the Network provider?
Or the network provide have two send it to Apple for verification?
No. Apple wants money.Apple needs to verify first that Cell C's LTE network works, as the constant switching between LTE and 3G can cause serious battery drainage.

Just my 2c on the two network providers..I am on both, Cell C (iPhone 5) and Vodacom (iPhone 4S).
I've been with Vodacom all my life, once with Cell C before (which was terrible experience) until now I signed up for a new Cell C contract which I've been using for about 5 months. So I was pretty sceptical signing up with an operator where i had a terrible previous experience.
What I've experienced thus far is both carriers signal quality is about the same. Sometimes Vodacom signal would suck while Cell C is excellent, other times its the other way around. Where I do see a clear difference is with 3G signal. Cell C for the most part has the better 3G signal. I understand this would be purely up to the area one resides in, so I'm just sharing my experience from the area I live and commute around.
My conclusion is that all three of the major operators (Vodacom, Cell C, MTN) are about the same in terms of voice and data reception and also customer support experience. You might win something with the one operator but lose something else in comparison with another. So basically you will never absolutley win.
Again, this is just my personal opinion regarding mobile operators in SA.
It is actually due to the carrier frequency. Cell C use 900MHz, it has larger penetration, while Vodacom (and all others 2100MHz). Where Cell C gain is in frequency, it loses due to some other issues. I agree, the overall experience might be similiar, depends on the area.Where I do see a clear difference is with 3G signal. Updated and as expected No Service.
Seems their network fell over in La Lucia as my friends have the same issues
Just make sure it's provisioned for lte. It's free.
how do we do this?
and has any one actually got lte on a cell c iphone?
