iPhone 5 may feature 19-pin mini-connector

Sounds almost right. aPple will put in ye olde, "This Implementation Licence and the rights granted hereunder will terminate immediately and automatically, without notice from Apple, if: (iii) if You, at any time during the term of this Implementation Licence, commence an action for patent infringement against Apple" term, and claim all your intellectual "property" for themselves. Same as they do for their mini displayport connector.

I guess there won't be any new Samsung Ipod or Iphone docks available.;)
 
This sucks bigtime!! New iPhone better ship with a 19 pin to 30 pin dock connector adapter.

Not at all happy about this!!! Basically make millions of accessories redundant over night!! Or at the very least require a R300+ adapter!!!!! :mad:
 
Yep, glad they don't make cars or an oil change would invalidate your warranty.
 
This will annoy a lot of people, myself included.
Unless they have 19 pin -> 30 pin adapter. Then I'm happy :)
 
An adapter? You're dreaming. That would defeat the entire purpose of this change. (To put the brakes on 3rd party accessories for a while so Crapple can make more $$$ off licensing from their preferred suppliers. Also, to generate more bucks for said suppliers by forcing you to upgrade your accessories along with your iDevice. ). That's the same reason they changed the connector last time too. It's the same reason they do everything.

Not to worry though, I'm sure there'll be loads of no-name adapters from China in short order.
