iPhone 6 bendgate replacements in SA

short answer:

we the mobile operators got a few devices to replace your bent phones with, but we decided to sell them instead

Samsung's Galaxy range of smartphones have polycarbonate shells which spring back into shape.
A classic case of Plastic > Alloy so I'll stick to "cheap" plastic while those with deep pockets can pay a premium price for bendable devices with a "premium" finish.

Core are the worst.

I wish someone else owned the Apple and Nintendo importer rights.

But they cost about the same nowadays (premium Androids and iPhones), and the iPhone depreciate a whole lot less. So you're actually saving in the long run by going iPhone (not to mention saving time by not having to restart, battery pull, etc.).

So people will be willing to pay a good price for someone elses bend iPhone?

Bendgate is a none affair. I'm more concerned that a cracked screen on an iPhone automatically voids your warranty...

“According to guidelines stipulated in the [Visual/Mechanical Inspection guide] for damage classification, a bent iPhone 6 or 6 Plus is only eligible for out of warranty service,” said Core.

“We haven’t been able to obtain a warranty exception from Apple for a bent iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. ”

So there you go, you are on your own after they got your cash
