What do you guys think of it? A contract is coming up for renewal in the next 3 months and we were thinking of possibly an iPhone. Never had one before but I have heard nothing but good things of the iPhone either....

I have one...absolutely love it!

I have the iPhone 6, not the Plus. 4.7" is "normal" size for today's phones...the Plus is massive.

The camera is so freakin awesome and the slow-mo video option is so much fun.

The phone looks strange (round edges and screen that's not protected by the edges), but one you have it for a day or 2, it really grows on you. It's quite pretty as far as phones go.

I upgraded from the 5C to the 6 and it was the best decision I've made. Not regretting it at all.

I am happy with the 6 as well. I don't make a lot of phone calls but do send a lot of texts and mails so I like the extra real estate on the phone screen.

Brilliant phone (of course) but if you want the best one handed use experience then a 5s is better. I upgraded my 16GB to a 64GB instead of getting the 6. Camera is also very similar.

I am using an iPhone 6 Plus, love the battery life although the phone is really a lot bigger compares to an iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 = iPhone 6

EDIT: Unless it's the 6 Plus, then it's the same, just bigger

how? looks and feels completely different.

Ignore Slootvreter, doesn't know what he/she is talking about.

6 is a great device, size is a bit big but the extra screen real-estate is useful.

Have the 5s as a work device, and the 6, definitely prefer the 6. In my mind, 5s and 6 are better than any android device out there.

iPhone 5 and 6 totally different? LOL. They look a little bit different, but as far as using it is concerned, the experience is identical. Oh wait, except for slow motion video. I've used both, thought that there would have been a bit of a difference.

Yes. The 5 and 6 do not share a single component! The 6 is a completely different device from the ground up.

The standardized iOS experience is to be seen as a positive, not a negative!

Whether it's a completely new device built from scratch, the experience is exactly the same as an iPhone 5.

Have you tried a 4s, 5s or 6 Plus running iOS 8?

You reckon?

Mmmm, not convinced. I upgraded from a 5c, chalk and cheese for me...

1.) The screen is significantly bigger and more vibrant than that on my old 5c. Working on it is an absolute revelation for a long time iPhone user that had to be content with 4" or less. For me, the debate could end there but for the sake of substance I'll continue.
2.) It has a fingerprint sensor for unlocking which initially I believed to be a gimmick and now I use exclusively, no such experience/option on my old 5c
3.) I thought the 8mp shooter was quite underwhelming considering the 20mp plus options available from the competitors, but no, it shoots beautiful pics with a marked improvement over one's captured on my old 5c. The few reviews and comparisons I've read, the 6/6+ more than holds its own against the S5, Note 4, LG3, Xperia's etc etc etc
4.) Reachability is another new feature which has come in very handy, excuse the pun.
5.) I reiterate, your perception that the experience on a 5 and 6 is exactly the same is a huge credit to iOS. Not everyone would agree with you, Dolby for example...
6.) Generally the 6 is far more responsive than the 5/5c.
7.) Although for me battery life hasn't improved much between the 5c and 6, a lot of users have noticed a significant improvement in this department. That weighs heavily on the over all user experience.

So ja, having used both I'm quite surprised you've experienced no difference, either physically or from day to day use.

Yeah, a bit slower, but it looks like the 6.

That is correct, they are iPhones and run iOS, and therefore look and operate similarly/identically. So we can assume that there will not be much difference as far as the OS goes.

It's the size of the 6 over the 5/5s that accounts for at least 50% for the difference. This counts for screen size as well as the remarkably slim depth of the phone, 7mm slimmer than the 5/5s. As you can understand, nothing like it has been available before, the difference is certainly there.

This is without getting into the many technical improvements under the hood.

I wasn't bashing the iPhone. I am stating my experience with it here. I have used a 4s, a 5 and a 6, and it feels exactly the same. 4s is a bit slower, that's all. If that's seen as a good thing, so be it ;)

Understood, did not interpret it as bashing as I know you're an iPhone user. ;) My reply (and I'm sure sand_man's) was for the benefit of the OP and others.

I agree with you though, it's not significant enough an upgrade from the 5s which is the reason I went from 5s 16 - 64GB instead. Also for the size, I hope Apple bring back a 4" 7. Would be great to have 4", 4.7" and 5.5" sizes.

This will excite you...

EDIT: How much time you spent working on a 6? I get your preference for the 4" model but I must say the 6 felt so natural from the moment I had it in hand.

I got both the 6/6+ on launch day. My intention was to keep the plus. Opened it and set it up first! 12 hours in and it was a classic love/hate relationship. Beautiful device but obscenely big. I just couldn't relate.

I had intended keeping the plus and selling the 6 as a sealed, unwanted upgrade. About 12 hours after delivery I caved and opened the 6. What a relief it was. Once in hand it was like a case of, "welcome back my old friend"!! It just felt so familiar! LOVE IT!!!!
