iPhone 6s randomly shutting off: reports

As an iOS user, are you affected by the iOS 9 random shutdown issue?

9.0.2 doesn't mention anything about a fix for this issue. Have Apple acknowledged a problem?

Installing 9.0.2 now, I haven't had a problem on my 6.

The Mac Rumors thread I linked to has reports of it happening on a 5s and a 6, but such isolated reports of it being this particular bug on those particular models.

The issue is clearly one effecting the new s range, yet 32% of respondents on the myBB poll claim to have been effected. I'm going to assume none of them are using the new 6s?

I'm also going to assume that your assumption that they trolling is the correct one.
 
Ok so thankfully I sorted out the fingerprint reader issue with a simple restart,lets see if it ever happens again.

But yeah I'v always found lots of small bugs like this with iOS...not very different to what I experience on a high end android phoneS to be honest.And yes iOS does crash now and then.I don't know why some people believe iOS is more stable or bug free,its not.

Agreed. Spoof votes too.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt before saying 19-1 in favour of no issues, but it's probably more like 19-0. Just the usual trolls. :)

If I am wrong, let them tell us in this thread.

Anyways, we have 5S, Air, 6 and 6S devices that shut down randomly. We many devices, and each device on a different version of IOS for testing. The IOS 9.0.x and 9.1 beta phones are raising some eyebrows with their shutdowns. This is on the 5S, 6, Air, Air 2 and 6S devices. It doesn't happen all the time, but it is noticeable.

Would suggest you care a little less about people attacking iPhone devices. Unless you actually had a hand in the actual development and production of the device itself, it just seems petty.

Did they shutdown before iOS 9 too?

It's not that I care so much, more that it's unheard of (for me at least).

Perhaps a new thread is in order.

I disagree. I sold my Z3 2 weeks ago and both get/got me through the day comfortably.

The difference with Android phones, is the battery dropping when you aren't doing anything. And not only apps like Facebook suck the life out of it, although it is bad enough. Things such as 'Google Play Services' or 'Android System' are often top of the drain list, even when you have a couple of hours of screen on time. And to be honest, I just can't be arsed fighting with a phones OS to stop the drain.

I used to enjoy rooting and flashing new Roms a few years ago, but now I want a phone that doesn't drop so many percentage points a day hunting for notifications for Google + or because you haven't switched off updates on the Play Store.

That's why I enjoy iOS. You use the phone, the battery drops. You don't use the phone, it doesn't.

And with the 6 battery, I easy get though a day of normal use including some gaming, bluetoothing music and push notifications for emails and such which I always just turned off on Android because they drain so badly.

No, not really. These phones are used as development phones so we have all devices running all version of IOS. This wasn't picked up during the beta either so it looks like something introduced in the final version.

The device doesn't seem to shut down, the screen is black and its unresponsive. It's like a thread deadlock or a slow memory leak that slowly kills it.

Maybe you had a dud z2 because battery life on it for me personally was a highlight almost two full days with medium to high usage and my iPhone 6 with same usage gives me a full day only and I'm forced to charge every night.

No, I never had a dud and I charge every night anyway. In my experience, Android is all about the amount of apps you have loaded and the notifications they draw on. You have to admit that battery drain is a bit of a lottery and it takes some amount of research, trial and error to stop the drain while it's idle. Used to drive me nuts watching the battery app if it showed it was awake when it shouldn't have been :D
