iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Any recommendations for a good proper fitting glass screen protector for the iPhone 7? I remember way back in this thred someone fitted one which didn't fit properly due to the slight curve of the screen.

Bought this one from the iStore:

Initially struggled to get it to stick down properly on the edges but just kept working it until it stuck.

Hasn't moved since.

Ye I had issues with the first screen protector I bought. It was ever so slight too big and the edges got too close to the rounded glass corners of the phone and did not stick properly. I then bought the Body Glove version and that stuck a whole lot better.

Growing number of matte black iPhone 7 users report chipped paint on edges & back of device

According to a growing number of posts on Apple’s Support forums, some iPhone 7 matte black models are suffering from paint chips. Affected users claim that even with the use of a case, their iPhone 7 matte black model is showing paint chips around the edges of the device and on the back…

The issue is similar to one that plagued the black iPhone 5 when it was first released. While the issue appears to be rather limited in scope as of right now, the Apple Support forum has reached multiple pages in length and continues to grow

Users report that they see paint chips around the edges and back of their matte black iPhone 7. Specifically, the iPhone 7 Plus model seems to be affected more so than the smaller model. Apple Support has apparently been unhelpful in replacing or repairing affected devices, calling it an uncovered cosmetic flaw.

What band\model number should I look out to buy in the US? 7 plus 256GB (not Matt Black given ^^)

Will be traveling there this weekend and keen to pick one up before the cabinet reshuffle.

I gave the Matte Black iPhone 7 one look and decided against it in favour of the Jet Black. Reminded me too much of the Slate iPhone 5 and the cosmetic chips that accompanied it.

I would much rather have the micro abrasions of the jet black version which I maintain has been blown out of proportion. Mine has never seen a case and there are micro abrasions everywhere but it cannot be seen unless you polish the finish and really look for them under ideal lighting. But then again I was never concerned with scratches and fingerprints. I've probably polished the surface twice since I have the phone.

Also, in my opinion, the jet black is the nicest thing to come out of Apple since the iPhone 4. If rumours are true about that jet white version, I'd buy a 7 plus like that too.

The capillary action during the anodisation of the Jet Black phone means that cosmetic peeling is not going to be an issue.

Edit: Looking at that pic in the link, it looks like Apple skimped on the anodisation process of the Black iPhone. Not even the iPhone 5 appeared to peel like that...

I have a matte black since December which is used half of the time without a cover and never had a chip.

In two minds about the 7 plus.

Love using it...but it is noticeably big in the pocket.

Worse I'm carrying 2 phones so it's a mission @ pockets anyway

The US stuff is different @bands. I would not buy in the US. Theyre on WCDMA or whatever it's called. You can safely buy in Europe...but US not so much

That's not really true anymore, the iPhone has almost all the bands built into only a few models, the AT&T/T-Mobile US model is the same model in Europe and SA (and most of the world as well).

For iPhone 7 it's model A1778 andiPhone 7 Plus is Model A1784

I upgraded about 2 months ago I think. I had a Xperia Z3, then upgraded to the iPhone 7 128GB. My iPhone has been in the cupboard somewhere for the last month. Nice phone, but very underwhelming, I prefer my Z3.

Im feeling the same (had the z2). I am using the iphone though for reasons, but I do prefer the android environment. Depending on android phones coming out soon I might ditch the iphone actually.

I like it.

Colorware is making limited edition iPhone 7 Plus Retro models

Colorware, the company that does custom paint jobs for electronics in preset configurations or any color of your choice, has announced a new custom paintjob for the iPhone 7 Plus that gives it the retro 1984 original Macintosh look.

Called just the iPhone 7 Plus Retro, the paintjob features a complete recoat of the back in the beige color scheme with dark beige stripes on the sides and the rainbow colored Apple logo. The front of the phone is black. The phone itself is a 256GB iPhone 7 Plus that is SIM-free and carrier unlocked.

Now for the price. The iPhone 7 Plus Retro is expensive, as Colorware products tend to be, but especially so in this case, with a price tag of $1899. The phone will be sold for a limited time, with the first 25 being numbered.

And next week some clever Chinese accessory company will start selling a case that looks like that for $5 ;)

Is there an equivalent to the back button of Android on iOS. Been doing development for both and find the lack of that frustrating.
