1) Ok fair enough, might not draw a lot of power but still draws something even if it’s negligible. This feature is not something I consider a dealbreaker. Nice to have but unnecessary.
2) But you still have to look at the phone in order to type the passcode, therefore your face is within the FaceID sensors and will unlock.
You don’t understand how FaceID works. You do not have to point the phone directly in front of your face, it can be sitting on a table or underneath the table at a meeting. Your face will be in the proximity of FaceID and therefore unlock the phone. And again I say, you do not even have to look at the phone, that is an extra security feature built into FaceID which can be turned off.
