iPhone 8 & iPhone X Thread

Skipping all these Iphones and waiting for 9, will be happy with my 6 until then. I dnt see any new features to validate its price. Might try a galaxy series 8 in the mean time.

May I ask what features you were expecting the iPhone X to have to make it a worthy purchase? Just curious to know what sort of expectations people have.

I call bullsh#t on your statement about using the iPhone X. It has not been launched yet and only very few Apple employees have access to the device. In addition, FaceID only works with one face, so you would have had to remove someone else’s FaceID scan to use it. No one would lend you an iPhone X for a “couple of days” and allowed you to gain access to their phone with FaceID.

So yeah, I don’t trust a word you say. Sure I will go ahead and buy the iPhone X.
This.

Pre order only starts next week friday....and I'll be ordering mine.

So your iPhone 6 doesn’t have the following:

1) Fast Charging
2) Wireless Charging
3) Edge to Edge display
4) OLED display
5) FaceID
6) Better battery life
7) Better camera

So now, you don’t think that those 7 features are worth upgrading to the iPhone X? If not, I really want to know what feature you would like the iPhone 9 to have that will make you upgrade? Genuine question.

I think the bands and tech I'd different. Verizon is cdma

Yeah I see there are two different ones after all.

But it seems the CDMA models still cover all the other frequencies too, so you can't really get a lesser phone.

It's like GSM vs GSM+CDMA really.

Model A1865*
FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 66)
TD-LTE (Bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41)
TD-SCDMA 1900 (F), 2000 (A)
CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900, 2100 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

Model A1901*
FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 66)
TD-LTE (Bands 34, 38, 39, 40, 41)
UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

Pretty much, there are 2 models, both models cover the exact same bands but the one includes CDMA.

Yup you beat me to it.

So essentially all of them are Global...and then you get the "Also in America" version. :)

So you think the guy at the pub who has promised to lend me an iPhone Xs for a few weeks in December before Apple launch it next September is a raving, lying Billy Bullsh*tter :p

The answer is in your second sentence, but you are wrong that only a few Apple employees have it. This phone has been pictured "in the wild" for the last few weeks in many, many locations. Just go look at reddit or some other tech blogs.

As a mobile developer I develop software for mobile devices, one of which is IOS. I also posted some pics a while ago where I was posting some stuff with ARKit and ML so perhaps I got to work with Apple employees who had devices like the X on them recently.

But you can believe what you want to believe, I don't mind.
