iPhone sales hit by big decline

Hopefully, disappointing sales will be the kick in the rear that Apple needs to start improving the value proposition of its products.

Currently the situation is dreadful across everything they do other than the iPads and perhaps Apple Watch.

iPhones: hilariously overpriced & iOS is starting to feel outdated
iMacs: haven't been updated in over 600 days & look old as hell with those monster bezels
MacBook Pros: hugely overpriced, Touch Bar sucks, has no ports & the keyboard is an abomination
MacBook Air: the price is nonsensical relative to other Macs
Mac Mini: also nonsensical pricing
Mac Pro: the biggest joke in the computer world

Even the new iPad Pro, with its very impressive hardware, is massively let down by iOS. Anyone who has used one and doesn't feel that the software is a serious problem is delusional.

What in the actual hell is wrong with this company. Tim can go screw himself if he isn't even willing to do an annual spec bump on otherwise unchanged products at the prices these things sell for.

People are smelling the coffee! When a similar flagship handset (Huawei Mate 20 Pro) is circa R10000 cheaper, then something is seriously wrong!

If you've ever had the misfortune to work on any iPhone you'll understand why "garden shed build" comes to mind!

The last Apple device that I owned was my 6s. I enjoyed the experience. Decided not to pay for it again.
I actually liked iOS, however I have more things to integrate my current Huawei with now, which I do not do anyway.

Something that irks me quite badly are the price of Airpods. What the actual fork?

the "fork" is they are made by angels employed by Cr@pple, for minimum wage, and shipped in boxes that have tons of packaging materials, and sold as "premium"

the "fork" is they think their special, when actually many companies have similar designs.

A time for a new iPhone SE.
The OP said that smart 'phone sales are stagnating. I feel sure they will decline as the social media persons get increasingly bored and find something better to do than pretend to be part of various elites. If I am right, a new SE would be a waste of money and effort by Apple.

I think there isn't any advancement in smartphones so people don't need to buy.

I don't need to replace my current phone bought 2 years ago. It has a big screen and is fast and responsive. has fast charge, is dual sim, 4G and 64Gb storage. What else do I need. Introducing a smaller bezel but has a notch. That is not advancement but rather backward.

Laptops also. They introduce the touch bar. After the novelty wears off you realize it is not very practical.

Apple still is getting lots of money from their App Stores so I don't think lower iPhone sales will dent their profits
