iPhone still calls the shots

As someone with the previous view that Apple was just a funky brand with no substance I was massively impressed by the iPhone when I took the plunge and took one from Vodacom.

- E-Mail Exchange Active Sync just work perfectly
- Seamless Wi-Fi Switching
- Absolutely awesome 3rd party applications at very reasonable cost (iShape and GymBuddy as well as my Bible and Reciepe book)
- A very secure phone due to the software limitations
- My Garmen finally has al Bluetooth functions!
- Awesome Browser (Though I hope Flash is sorted out soon)
- Good reception and 3G performance
- Best interface around and very smooth feel to it.

The only complaint I have is that I want to use my phone as a modem!

So don't be so quick to say that the phone is bad with a funky badge and this coming from someone who has used and struggled with most of the phones on the market.

The Palm Pre has peaked my interest, the only iPhone ripoff that looks good IMO.

Happened to mine aswell, well I threw it - PS dont download the "iThrow" app!!!!
Funny part is it still worked!!!! Now its fixed.

Its not easy to crack the screen, id expect a glass screen to be much easier to break.

Who fixed it for you?

I to a degree agree with rouxenator, symbian seems to strangely all of a sudden find its way on to more and more manufatures phones. (and quite impressed by samsungs implementation) and symbian 9.5 looks beautifull. way more stylish (and customisable) than the iphone's GUI.
And I'll love to see the day the iphones OS finds its way onto other manufactures devices. (and I'll make appoint of steering away from it).

Uhm the question, why would apple want their OS on other phones, its their OS and its THEIR phone, guess what, they don't need to worry about other phones.

Secondly, I have worked on Symbian (6 and UIQ) and on windows mobile 5, and both of those OS' are closed tighter that a fat man in prisons butt, the iphone's OS is open, and as customizable as a pc.

And its always strange to me, how the fanbois rival against the iphone, and measure the second generation against phones that are about what, 10 -15th generation.

But luckily people like Roux will never let the facts cloud their judgement, buddy get yourself an iphone, this fetish that you have for the thing has got to stop now

the iphone did bring some new things to the market. But what sold more iphones than any other feature is the apple logo on the phone.
Its really just an ipod that can phone and to a degree browse the web. Most of its features arent alluring to any one who seriously wants to use their phone, even the most basic symbian phone has more "real life" bussiness functionality.
The iphone is for fashion fundi's,mac fan boys and hardcore music lovers (and people who like to get their screen smudgy)

lol...
e-e-e-e-e!!!! Wrong answer, please try again.

I have a sony ericson atm and have a medium sized screen....

I def dont want a bigger screen, that will def cost me money later as I have a tendency to drop my phone

Kids will always play with new and fancy toys, even the ones that are remakes of your favorite toys when you were still a kid - they'll tell you how much newer and better it is now. The thing is some grown-ups also loves the new toys kids have, and Steve Jobs knows this... :p

And then you get some kids that are just so obsessed with someone else new toy, they just can't keep it all to themselves. Buddy they day you have actually played with an iphone, and not just slobber over it and fantasize about it like you do, then you can actually comment.

Currently I see very few people with iphones going into other cellphone threads and dissing them with baseless opinions, but of course then there is you.

Nowhere did this article state that the iphone was better than any phone, just that most of the new phones are trying to immitate some feature of the iphone, but then of course in you pop

haha..
you apple fan boys should just build a "church of steve jobs'...seriously he will take a dump put it in a fancy container (with an apple logo on it) and you okes will still buy it (at a ridiculous price)
