Have iphone 3gs with 4.0.2 OS. I use my home and office PC to back up and sync the phone but cannot sync all on both machines as the one machine wipes out the others sync.
With Widows OS you have a choice to set up 2 machines for sync. Is there any way to do this for the iphone.

None that I'm aware of.
Your phone can only sync with one machine (music & video library, apps, contacts, calendar, mail accounts, notes etc)... There are a couple of tricks to get what's on your phone onto a second machine, but syncing it to a second machine will erase what's on the phone and load what's on the second machine.

Even on Windows using the old Activesync or the new Mobile Center, you can only have one sync active per item, that is to say for example: Sync Corporate calendaring, corporate email, corporate contacts and use home PC for media, files, etc. Thats as far as I can recall from my Win Phone days.

With IOS you can sync to multiple services, ex. Yahoo, Google, Exchange, MeeGo (or whatever it's called), etc. You can only have 1 iTunes partnership though AFAIK.

with active sync you could have a work and home machine and you could select any merge changes you wanted. but it did give you the ability to use 2 different machines with various information.

ill give you another flaw, in my view, i download a podcast or a lecture from itunes u using the iphone, i cannot copy this onto my notebook itunes, when i sync it wipes the files off the phone. so you have to download through the notebook/pc and then sync! painfull.
