iPhone's and short codes

Greetings all

I'm a new member and I'm excited to learn and contribute.

I'm trying to find out if there is a setting on IOS mobile devices that can prevent it from sending to a 5 digit code, e.g. 43535.
Both the device and short code are supported on local (SA) networks.

What do you mean by Short Code exactly? As in the short code set on the SIM card? Or just a short number?

Possibly the Number Blocking feature might work.

I just tried that. Created a contact and blocked it but you can still send messages to it...

Premium SMS numbers.

A premium SMS number ( Sinbad)
Android devices warn you when sending to a premium number and you can block/unblock the ability to SMS the premium number in the message app's app settings.

I'm not sure if IOS has a similar feature.
