IPL 2017

Aravind to Narine, SIX, Narine has the fastest IPL fifty! He's done it. In Gayle's home ground. Good length at off stump, stands tall and lifts this over the long-on boundary on the up

50 in 15 balls!

Wtf did I just witness?
That was amazing. So glad I have kkr to win this one

He must be allowed a poor IPL season. He's been so brilliant over the years, and we all know he can still deliver - as an opener too. What's unacceptable is Kohli&AB having poor seasons. Kohli has captaincy&local man excuse to keep him in the freame. But an AB reluctant to keep can go unsold in 2019 if he has another poor season.
Massive shakeup on the cards. Too many high expectations backfired.

I feel the rcb performance has nothing to do with the players. Consistant bad performance like that is a sign of bad team management.

Gale is not out of form, he is playing as always. Bowlers have figured him out that is all.
Kholi is coming off a very long very hard season, and the wear on him started showing in the series against aus already.
Ab has played like he always does. High risk batting. Combine that with pressure of openers not performing and coaching staff not being at the net sessions (video on the ab app shows this) and why the rcb keep loosing becomes clear.

What can the proteas learn from this?
Rabada and tahir are amazing. Amla is still great. Morris is our secret wepon.
Miller however is not performing.
When it comes to CT
We need to watch out for eng, aus and nz. No one else matters.
The top 4 there will be sa, aus, nz and eng. With the final being either aus or sa against eng.
India might suprise us and make top 4 at the cost of sa or nz. But that really depends on kholi. And honestly the politics between the bcci and the ICC is wearing kholi out

The stat that the AB doesn't reveal to you is called entitlement.

The openers have failed all along but guess what, AB still didn't open. That's what happens when you get too powerful you even call the shots. Kohli was injured but RCB openers still struggled. AB didn't open in Kohli's absence.

Mark my words when analysis is done at the end of the season expect a lot of the analysts to ask "why didn't AB open? They rotaed Gayle, Watson, and the other two blokes?"

That in LOIs Jp Duminy is highly underrated. In my opinion he would be near the top of the batting charts if he was there at this IPL, plus would've been captain, and a great one.

Aye. Another superbly timed innings by the mighty #

Kind of agree with you on this. If you don't have QDK and Hash opening then it's imperative that he opens. Gives AB a fee balls as sighters and time to unleash at his own pace. He's wasted in RCB at 4 or 5.

Ab tried opening in 2014 and for the proteas in the world Cup.

In the end it was found ab performs best at number 3 in T20 and 4 in odi or tests.

I want to defend Jp. I really do.
I have spent years on this forum for the last 3 years.

Unfortunately outside of T20 jp does not cut it anymore. I think jj smuts should play the exact role jp is playing now. Only he is more consistent with both the bat and ball. He is not jp in the field though
