IPL 2022

Glad for him.. but hell he has to step up a lot from his recent performance.
I agree, he has a long way to go. BUT, and it's a big but, he has a guaranteed R6m or so each year for the next 4 years. That is a VERY healthy start to adult life.

Bliksem, I need to start working on my seam bowling. :p :X3:

Lol, this morning's auction is so weird. Indian u-19 world cup winning captain went for 50 lakh, that's 1/6th of what Brevis got.

Dawid Malan, currently no 5 in the T20I rankings went unsold. Aidan Markram no 3 in T20I rankings, went for 2.6 crore. I'm baffled as to how these franchises make their decisions. Similarly Shamsi, no 4 in the rankings is unsold.

Maybe some of these unsold guys will get picked up when the second call comes around.

Tim David to Mumbai. Congrats on winning the 2022 title, Mumbai.

Perhaps not in good form at the moment?

T20i rankings are a lie. Teams often don’t pick their best XI in T20i (exclusion for the past year or so since there've been back-to-back world cups).

But Dawid Malan is simply not the fifth best batsman in the world. And Shamsi is not the fourth best bowler (might be up there if we just discuss spinners). Shamsi has the added disadvantage that foreign spinners are undervalued.

Delhi just bought Ngidi! I'm maybe not moving to Punjab after all

Miller unsold yesterday and today they splash like $400k on him.. Also though Markhram would go for more considering his semi all-rounder status and performance in the world cup, any SA spinners bought ?

Markram and Brevis have both been known to tweak their arms a bit. Tahir and Shamsi both got the ignore treatment though. Being the start of a 4 year cycle, I think Tahir's age counted against him. Were the contracts just for a year or two I think he might have gotten a gig.

I my opinion... and this is only mine. Batsmen should be more valuable in T20. Look at todays game where Pretorius klapped them all over the park and took 2 wickets.

It's a chicken and an egg scenario - what about wicket-taking bowlers who consistently get those highly valued batsmen out?

Depends on the fielders.
