IPL 2022

Strike rate and averages mean nothing in T20... Economy is the key. You only have 4 overs.
A.) Bowler has economy 8.0 , SR 10, AVG 10
B.) Bowler has economy 7.5 , SR 30 , AVG 30

You pick bowler B? Don't be ridiculous, nothing is black and white with regards to stats.

Strike bowlers have their place in T20. Rabada is as expensive as Ngidi in IPL, but they fulfil a valuable purpose. Just have to get them to mesh with the other bowlers.

Strikerate is what matters in t20. You pick up wickets you will slow the runrate.

I'm just messing with you folks...But yeah, a bad bowler can get a crucial wicket as with anything else in cricket.. missed run out , drop catch etc. That;s what makes it entertaining.

What is potentially exciting about this is that Ngidi might get the opportunity to fill the Rabada role at DC (depending on whether they use him or Fizz - I suspect the first couple of performances will be really important to determine who gets the top spot). He was somewhat wasted at CSK since Dhoni always wanted to go for spin kills and then Hazelwood took preference over him in latter years.

Markram and Brevis have both been known to tweak their arms a bit. Tahir and Shamsi both got the ignore treatment though. Being the start of a 4 year cycle, I think Tahir's age counted against him. Were the contracts just for a year or two I think he might have gotten a gig.

Yeah Shamsi the number 2, was 1st T20 bowler yet they dont pick him for the IPL, strange I would gamble on him anyday (for a low price of course)

They generally don't sign international spinners unless the spinner can also bat. Have enough quality Indian spinners that the international spots goes to pacers, allrounders and batsmen.

Here is the SA players. Excluding Norje who was retained. Bavuma to replace Faf and then 1 spinner maybe for Brevis and that is probably our best T20 team for the world cup.

Kagiso Rabada - Punjab Kings for 9.25 crore (R18.6 million)

Faf du Plessis - Royal Challengers Bangalore for 7 crore (R14.1 million)

Quinton de Kock - Lucknow Super Giants for 6.75 crore (R13.6 million)

Marco Jansen - Sunrisers Hyderabad 4.2 crore (R8.4 million)

Dewald Brevis - Mumbai Indians for 3 crore (R6 million)

Aiden Markram – Sunrisers Hyderabad for 2.6 crore (R5.2 million)

David Miller - Gujarat Titans for 3 crore (R6 million)

Rassie van der Dussen - Rajasthan Royals for 1 crore (R2 million)

Dwaine Pretorius – Chennai Super Kings - INR 50 Lakh (R1 million)

Lungi Ngidi – Delhi Capitals - INR 50 Lakh (R1 million)

Some decent money there

If I had R6M at 19, my life would be a total mess right now.

CSK vs KKR. I'm watching this instead of the WI vs ENG test.

Dhoni still has it.

As for Russell, I don't know. His bowling has been iffy for a while now.

What is Russell? To me, he’s a finishing batsman whose bowling is a bonus. But even his batting has been off form for a bit.

But when he's on form, he’s arguably the best finisher ever.
