IPL 2022

So we getting to the business end of the comp who are we favouring for the win?

I've never been as disinterested in IPL as I have this season... dunno why, but I've found it generally quite crap, the little I've watched...

There were many great matches, but some crappy ones.

The season has too many games and teams.

IPL 2022 started on 26 March and ends on 29 May.
64 days for a tournament is a bit much for me.

The T20 World cup with 16 teams is 16 October – 13 November 2022
Only 28 days, and that is also long.

Need some test cricket.

Yeah I think agree with @Pegasus

The Comp is too long. A game every day and weekends have 2 games. Because it's that many games I lose interest a bit because teams can litterally play so bad and still make it to the top.

It needs to be tighter where every game matters.

10 teams playing each other twice = 45 x2 = 90 games before semi-finals.
8 teams (previous) = 28 x 2 = 56 games before semi-finals.

Adding just 2 teams has significantly lengthened the competition.

Yeah, agree with all who say that the tournament goes on too long, and it means we don't get any tests in that window. It's also hard to get into the new teams when your favourite players are spread across different teams (Nortje and Rabada...)

I know the competition is long, but I am enjoying it. Yesterday's game, as an example, was amazing. GT posting a reasonable score when they looked out of the game - and then LSG unexpectedly tanking. Nothing predictable about this one.

Have not really followed it much since the first season or two but now that I am back in office it is often on the TV by my desk and there where some epic games. As always my interest has mainly been to follow the SA's there. David Miller has looked incredible in the few innings of him I saw so for now I am rooting for his team to take it.

Nope , it's not 10 teams playing each other twice .

There are 2 groups of 5 each, each seeded from 1-5.
You play everyone in your group twice (8 games)
You place everyone in the other group once (5 games)
You place 1 extra game against your corresponding seed in the other group (1 game)
Total of 14 per side and 74 in total

Thanks - didn't know that.

Conway has been judged LBW, and because of no DRS available, he can't review that!

No DRS available at the moment because of a powercut at the stadium
