Hi guys,

I recently got myself a nice 80GB iPod, and now (after suffering with a tape adapter for a week) I have decided that I need to do something about the really c*** sound quality...

The FM transmitters also sound a bit noisy to my ears, so I was thinking of a new head unit. I have found the Pioneer DEH-P700BT, which looks really awesome though a bit pricey. Anybody have any experience with it?

I have a JVC unit with cable integration to the Ipod and am looking to replace it, so would be interested to hear your results.

Was also considering a Pioneer (can't remember which one). The JVC unit is OK and the sound is good but the user interface is clumsy and really annoying.

My experience is to avoid the FM transmitters completely unless you enjoy listening to your Ipod to the background of Radio Metro.

If you dont mind removing your aerial (and since I live in PE I dont :D) the reception improves dramatically.

Are they using the same frequency as a commercial radio station? Isn't there a channel button or something?

My car radio has a USB slot in the radio face, once the Ipod has been plugged in I can browse folders and songs (in my ipod) via the radio face (controls and LCD). Would that work? Radio = Pioneer. Doesn't work with my girlfriends Ipod Nano.
