iPod troubleshooting question

i have an ipod shuffle and am trying to use the genius feature.

i have already signed up for an itunes store account, yet each time i enter the requisite password and apple ID, i get an error message (either username or password is wrong). i have re-set the password, but the problem persists.

help please.

Thought Genius wasn't available in SA?
Maybe I'm a few months behind...
