iPod vs Galaxy Phone audio qualiy

How does the iPod audio quality compare with Galaxy S4 phone, assuming same quality music and headphones. I am trying to decide whether I shoud buy an iPod for listening to music whilst running.

If you're gonna be using headphones, then the device doesn't matter much, especially between high end devices. Invest in a good pair of headphones, and you'll get good quality out of both devices.

While on the subject, what is a good app for running on the iPod? I am using Runtastic Pro on my Note 3 but want to start using the iPod 4 because it is smaller and lighter (and has no other use).
