Hiya all!

My sister is going to America for work and to possibly live there. Her birthday is coming up and we looking at getting a iPod Nano / iPod Touch. Not sure which one though. She likes her music and videos/movies.

I see they both can pretty much do the same thing although the Touch has a bigger screen, but the Nano has a built in camera. So not sure which to buy?

I would think the touch as it just seems for value for money, but the Nano has a built in camera, which she might like. But then I dont know what the camera is (2 megapixel?).

Have searched the net...but still not 100% sure on which one. Im leaning towards the 32GB Touch. What are you thoughts on which one to get?

Apparantly it's only a VGA 640 x 480 video camera - not a still camera at all. Even if firmware changed it to become a still, it would be a pretty ****ty still camera.

I would rather buy the ipod touch in usa though. I got my itouch for R1800 where in SA you pay R3500 for it. Order off amazon instead of buying in SA. way too pricey here. But the ipod touch is way better than any of the other ipods on sale.

Oh ok...shoo, bit of a problem. Her birthday is this week, and she leaves for the US the next week :( We could give her the cash, but it's not a good idea. That cash will be "wasted" on something kark. We know her all too well...gotta get her the gift...no way she will buy it. But thanks for the info though!

just buy it online and send her a belated present, you'll save alot buying it in US.

Well, all done...bought it yesterday. Know its cheaper in the US...but then she only really gets it in the US etc, and a bit kark having to wait ans she can make use of it on the plane and all the stop overs she has before landing in the US. So that will be bets I recon...rather pay the extra bit for it her and she has it than have her waiting for it.
