IPv6 Roll Out

Gone up to 1.5% based on 30 day moving average. Webafrica now on 17%.

Any news on Openserve?

We will start rolling out IPv6 on the new BNG. ADSL and Fibre on old BNGs to follow at a later stage.

Wow @AfriNatic this thread has gone so cold. How about some feedback on progress on Openserve and the rest of the rollout. APNIC 30 day moving average reports 4.8% of samples taken from the Afrihost network prefer/use IPv6. A significant jump.

Wow, what a milestone. A small but significant advance in our IPv6 adoption largely attributable to the rollout at @webafrica and @AfriNatic.
- Google stats up from 0.2 to 0.8%
- Akamai stats up from 0.3 to 1%
- APNIC stats up from 0.3 to 1%

All in the space of 2 months
Imagine if Vodacom, Mtn and Telkom get onto the bus
Well done

Any update on Openserve @AfriNatic?

We are starting to test ADSL and Fibre from today on staff lines. If we happy with that we will push a mass rollout. There has been significant delays to get ADSL on board and we had to push Openserve a bit to get this going as Pure DSL is here to stay for now and we want as many clients on IPv6 as possible.

Does it still apply to new BNG's only?

We were able to roll out that from the start but wasn't going to work for us so we had to wait for the changes to be done and now we are hoping that everyone will get IPv6. We expect issues on the very old adsl exchanges but for the most part IPv6 will work for most clients on Openserve.

Once that is done we will be the only ISP in SA to offer IPv6 on ADSL.

retro..
i don't suppose you have an estimate on the internal testing? i guess, it depends if it goes well or not.

I'm setting up a few staff lines today and if that is good we will do a mass rollout. Don't have an ETA yet.

thanks @AfriNatic I can confirm IPv6 is working on my Openserve (setup as Mikrotik DHCP client to the pppoe)
