IRC - Local Efnet Servers

Does anyone know of any efnet servers in ZA or the closest ones I can connect to? My lags are preventing me from downloading stuff from mirc.

I guess WBS have started shaping it :eek: . Please help.
 
No there use to be one up there for like 1 week but the guy couldn't coupe with the bandwidt and it was always dying from the network. use :
irc.easynews.com thats the best way i connect to EFNET.
 
Excessive lag right now. I was using irc.nac.net for a while till it started lagging on Wednesday. I reckon the 'slowdown' caused this crap.
 
its not lag. Well loads of People have been PING OUT WITH wbs, maybe you should re dial to the network once u do that youll be safe, if not then forget about it been sorted :P

You're right, it's my connection to the server timing out. Disconnecting :eek: is definately out of the question right now!
 
Like I said, I had the same issue like you, I was been disconnected from the server, So i decided to re dial to the NETWORK WBS, guess what i go check my bandwidth usage, and u know what happen i see my bandwidth usage working at last. I was like so shocked per time u disconnect then ur bandwidth upgrades.
 
btw, even if you connect to efnet, the actual data transfer is between you and the other person, so if that other person is overseas and you're connected to a local server, chances are your connect to him will time out
 
he knows that obviously thats why its called DCC (direct connect duh) he means he cant get the download started because of lag
