So, I spend the whole freaking day studying, justifying the act by saying "When Im done, I'm going to play Fallout".
15 hours later I close my books, smile, and...the power goes out.

It totally sucks being on the working end of irony.

You're supposed to shake your fist in the air and shout:

Curse you Eskom. Curses!

Then the closing credits will roll ...

Have you tried Fallout by candlelight. Its very romantic.

It's not ironic btw, just really unfortunate. Too much Alanis Morisette for you.

P.S. It still sucks tho.

I sat down to watch Big Bang Theory on HD and power went out after 10sec in and came back 20min later.

And no repeat broadcast :(

Lol, sorry zolly but I have to disagree with you.
According to the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary:
Irony - a situation, an event, that is deliberately contrary to what one expects, and is often amusing as a result.

But thats just splitting hairs. Truthfully, since it was not amusing (in the least), and unfortunate just doesn't sum it up, we'll go with catastrophic.

And yeah, Fallout by candlelight. Hmmm...Fallout-South Africa....hmmmm.... there's an interesting direction for the game to take....One of the missions can have you go into a Eskom 'Reactor' and blast irradiated mutants.

Could be quite cathartic I think...:D

The irony was that when he had power, he spent his time studying, and when he finally wanted to play FallOut, the power went out.
