Irresponsible/ biased press reporting

Just had an idea, might be crap though, I just woke up :)

Why not create a webbie that gives people the chance to vote on articles published by the media?

I bet you will quickly start generating some stats that the media will fear and try to avert.

And IOL ( as at 14:05 ) is still running the original story.
For shame.

Anyways, this is only to be expected - claim, confusion, denial - all common aspects of this rainbow cesspool we live in.

Good idea. Probably suffer from needing to gain critical mass, though.

Not a retraction but a contradiction by the police.

Not a retraction because the police never made the information available

“I can say with 100 percent certainty that there was no condom found at the crime scene of the late Mr. Eugene Terre’Blanche. This information was not leaked by police,” she said.

Just AVUSA flexing it's muscle and trolling consumers

I do wish someone would hold them somewhat accountable at times though.

I don't see the problem, the AWB have made it clear that the Swastika was their adopted symbol and their ideological goals on par. Why hide the fact or is it too nasty to realise that the right wing isn't has nice as you thought it was.

Lancelot you are being as biased as the media you are complaining about. the 777 flag Does look like a Swastika, end of story. there is no need for semantics around this one at all.

As a graphic designer, I must admit that the symbolic elements used in the design are the same as the Nazi emblem. We often are asked to emulate successful logos with a subtle approach. The AWB emblem is almost exactly as I would have approached a design based on the Nazi emblem. The colours are the same, the sharp edged emblem is a great morph of the nazi emblem (with 3 7's having a meaning), the white circle in the middle of a red background with the stark black emblem is a direct metamorphosis of the nazi flag... that, associated with the right wing principles.... The design correlation , while holding symbolism, vs. the Nazi emblem, is pure design genius! This design approach has been achieved many times before, but not as strong as in this case. IMHO

Edit: Remember that all successful logos rely on mental perception as opposed to visual imagery. One glance at the AWB flag is most certainly reminiscent of the Nazii flag for a reason. This, bearing in mind that the AWB's concepts are very much in line with Nazi concepts. Which is why the two emblems correlate so well.

Damn... working overtime... bummer... better get back to work!

Damnit! Lancelot instructed us not to discuss the content posted by Lancelot himself in his own OP! :D :D :D

Hope Lancelot doesn't gag us but it's good to get a professional confirmation of the similarities.

Three sevens in the AWB emblem? My cousin told me it represented a running black guy

I'd like to think, that we are all intelligent enough, to sift through all manner of reports and statements and discern, the truths, that hover between the lines.

We've been doing it since birth. ;)

It's not a swastika.

The ancient symbol for power in Hindi history.

Hitler merely stole the symbol, whilst going crazy with rewriting the entire Germanic history and attaching all sorts of "symbolic" depth to what he thought, was a nice swallow-able package.

The "Aryan" in the story, is actually the Iranian tribes that helped, with their integration into India, with it's ancient systems of animism, to give us the Vedic Scriptures, or Vedas.

He not only stole it he twisted it around.

The Nazi Hakendkreuz was NOT the original hindu / vedic symbol

"The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix. "

Also mention of "apartheid era flags", if the ANC can still sing struggle songs why can't the AWB wave "struggle flags".

Because we don't like it when the ANC sings struggle songs.

Come to that, we don't like it when the AWB waves "struggle flags" either...
