I heard a German 'brand expert' on TV recently saying that Germany 2006 was "a time to make friends, but South Africa 2010 seems like a time to make money."

The DA says that there is only one 2010 official working with the Department of Transport, while the Germans had a team of 80 officials working with their department of transport.

I get the feeling that most officials are in it to make a quick buck and they couldn't care what happens afterwards.

Some interesting questions
Are they blaming the ANC for this?

Will Eskom have enough energy for the Green Point stadium lights in the middle of a Cape winter in 2010?

Will the Gautrain work?

Will Bafana make it past the first round?

The answer to all the above is NO

It's about money and lots of other things ... just ask Selebi ... he wants to change laws to make more beds go boing-boing.

Why are we even asking questions here? The ANC way is to make as much money as possible for yourself and friends while screwing the opportunities and the rest of South Africa.

There is no question about 2010 being about money. Every Thabo, Thandi and Ace wants their cut. **** South Africa and what will happen...as long as pockets are lined and comfortable cars are driven everything is ok.

Look at Robert Mugabe, he thinks everything's fine. So in this country they must be thinking it's ****ing utopia.

Its so sad... the voters are still supporting the ppl who are scewing them

And they believe every word these crooks have to say.

No it's not sad, it's just ****ing stupid.

The dogged loyalty of half of this country is a joke.

The DA would not do the BEST work but **** me they'd be doing better than the ANC.

It's not loyalty, it's substance. Whether you choose to believe it or not, the ANC has made a huge difference in the lives and dignity of black people. I know that's hard for you lot to swallow but it's the truth.

The DA and former NP had over 50 years to govern, but they screwed up the country with apartheid. So i'm wondering how you came to the conclusion thaty they woould do better.

And are you a flippin fortune teller??

All those will work!!!
Negative cow!

Life is 'all' about money. You need money to sustain yourself, clothe yourself, house yourself, entertain yourself ......

But more importantly, it's more that just money, it's about maximising profits, earnings per share, dividends, Return On Investment ... or to sum it up ... Greed

HI jozi101.

I agree with you completely about the dignity and the fact that apartheid was a joke.

But what is the price of dignity when the man running for president was accused of rape and fraud? The man in question still commands huge amounts of loyalty but at what price?

Mugabe decided to go musth and look at the toilet he has created.

Democracy is based on competition. If this was a true democracy the ANC would've been out long ago, licking their wounds, trying to better themselves to get back into power.

Absolute power corrupts, power corrupts absolutely. And vice versa.

Hi Jozi,

It's not loyalty, it's substance. Whether you choose to believe it or not, the ANC has made a huge difference in the lives and dignity of black people. I know that's hard for you lot to swallow but it's the truth.

As a matter of interest, what would it take for you to not vote for the ANC?

The DA (or DP or PFP) were never in power. It was constantly opposed to apartheid. Believe it or not, these people had black peoples' interest at heart.

Actually, I think the answer to this is yes. The power outages were as a result of both of Koeberg's reactors being down, and to supplement peak power usage, we will have two gas turbines running at Atlantis.

Lol and the first thing they would do in power is drop the BEE AA thing!
Ye u right!

I take it that you acknowledge the the DA was never in power, and didn't support apartheid, since you haven't disputed this.

On the AA and EE subject, this is the topic for a different thread, but the DA has stated that it is against any discrimination. The logic being that treating one race separately from another instantly assumes that one is inferior and needs to be treated differently.
