Is a VW Vivo FULLY galvanized?

I have always understood that Polo's are FULLY galvanized, but are Vivo's also? (My definition of FULLY galvanized: Chassis and all body panels, not small bracket's... )

Can anyone confirm in fact that the Vivo is also FULLY galvanized? (It amazes me that there is so little mention of galvanizing as a feature, my (hardly ever washed) 9 year old polo has spent 99% of its entire life within 2km of the sea and there is not even one spot of rust on or under any body panel!)

I just phoned VW customer care (0860 434 737) and asked for a straight answer about the galvanizing, the conversation went something like this:

VW: ...we can confirm that the Vivo Chassis is definitely galvanized...
Me: So are the doors and bonnet panels not galvanized?
VW: The Vivo Chassis is definitely galvanized, Um... we aren't sure about the rest... but there is a difference in the warranty, so...

Hardly conclusive, but from that it appears likely that the panels are not galvanized.

I have a another thread going about this here. but I was hoping there would be some current/ex-VW employees on this forum with inside information?

Mystery solved:
Over on vwclub.co.za tashy (a current VW employee) asked around for me and got the answer from one of the product managers at VWSA:

Polo Vivo's are FULLY galvanized!

Thanks tashy :D

Cool info actually; I assume the Vivo is still the only car in its segment that is fully galvanized?

Yes, it is my understanding that Vivo is one option if you want "Fully Galvanized" and a Polo is your only other option for "fully galvanized" in any car segment. However, there are other car models from other manufacturer's that galvanize some body parts, but not the entire chassis and all body panels. (With Polo's and Golf's looking more and more alike, I wonder if the golf's are galvanized too, and if not, why not?)

Off-course there are alternatives to fully galvanized: if you have money, you can get one of the all aluminium AUDI models, or if you're not in a hurry to get anywhere you can always drive an aluminium paneled LandRover... :)
