I was about to get Webafrica and created a thread asking if it's good and many said its **** and someone recommended Afrihost so I'm seeking to know if its good.

They are unable to deliver the advertised speeds for international traffic. See other threads on this forum.

Yes. Just do it.

Ok, They cannot give speeds much higher than 100mbps on the faster packages. 200,500,1000mbps will top out around 100mbps.

Have you checked your network connections? 100mbps sounds like a local network issue.

That's simply not true. I get my full 500/250 on my Afrihost Openserve fibre line. In my experience, people on the higher packages who complain that they're not getting their full speed have inferior networking equipment that can't handle processing those higher speeds.

Had a 200, 250 or 300 with them with no issues, check the lan cable if it is topping at 100, sounds like it is negotiating at 100.

Various calls logged and chats on this forum. They are unable to resolve it. Local traffic tests full line speed.

Their response:

Why is this only 'n problem on Afrihost and only on international sites??

And if it is the TCP accelerators, why does Afrihost not use it?
We have explored the idea; however, TCP accelerators come in 10Gbps variants only, and we will need at least 50+ just for JHB. Currently, it is not feasible; it would create a complex topology for us to balance the traffic between the TCP accelerators.

See this thread.

For some reason you get full line speed both local and international on Cool Ideas
