is afrihost good?

Ok, They cannot give speeds much higher than 100mbps on the faster packages. 200,500,1000mbps will top out around 100mbps.
I get 700 down on my 1Gbps to London, so don't know where you decided to get your info from :)

Afrihost/Vuma is the only ISP Ive had since I switched over from ADSL and customer service and uptime 10/10 would def recommend 😎

Iv been very happy the past 10 yrs. With my speeds being consistently good. Iv also had very few technical issues. They also have whatsapp with an actual human that responds. From my perspective they on another planet compared to web africa

We are aware of B1yad issue, and Openserve has only one backhole at Hartbeespoort.
Workaround is changing the TCP window size or enabling bbrv2

i dont have the fibre yet however its soon going to be openserve(is that FNO?
Been on Afrihost Openserve fibre for over 3 years no issues yet (touch wood)

Had VDSL with Afrihost before that and same.

All my services are with Afrihost, truly worth it.

Have you checked your network connections? 100mbps sounds like a local network issue.
I am going to say I called it.

A few years ago there was an article about the hardware needed for the faster speeds.

My comment at the time was something like: I can see the user posts being made where users complains about not getting their full speeds.

I’ve never had issues with Afrihost from an ISP perspective and have been using them for a few years now at different addresses. Signup and connection is seamless, the online portal works well, you can reset your log-in details yourself if necessary, and billing is like clockwork.

I enjoyed Afrihost over Openserve more than I do now with Vumatel, which is all I can get in my complex. Vumatel doesn’t offer reporting data so Afrihost can’t give me even basic monthly data consumption figures, and whenever the network has been flaky in the past Afrihost hasn’t been able to immediately confirm if there was an issue in the surrounding area with Vumatel.

TLDR: I’d recommend Afrihost. Ultimately go with whoever offers the best signup bundle and fastest speeds at the lowest costs.

is afrihost with openserve good by my location? i am in phalaborwa
Have family there. They have an accounting company and home and I have not needed to help them since I helped set them up.

I am impressed with this as that can be seen, from my perspective, as a rural area.

Hi.

Vumatel Gauteng is going through a bypass link and has not been linked to Clientzone for recording data usage.

As one of the folks who said "No" in that thread.

Having been with WA, Cool Ideas and Afrihost, I must say I haven't needed to contact Afrihost support at all.
I don't have to check the CISP thread either anymore like I used to on semi regular basis about issues of some sort. This might have been resolved in the meanwhile though.

Long story short, I'd say yes - Afrihost is good.
