Was thinking of getting Amazon Prime (I already have Netflix) and to benefit off of free shipping, but then I noticed we're not eligible for the free shipping part.

Who has the service and do you get the benefit off of it for the $99 a year?

I'm in the same boat. I was going to get it mostly for the streaming movies and music, and free access to certain books. Still deciding whether it's worth it.

Also interested.
Has anyone tried the Prime trial month.
Maybe one of you guys can try it out and report back

I think that it is worth it, there are series on there that are not on Netflix.

Also, I use a shipper in the USA, and I get free shipping to the shipper.

It's worth it, imo.

FYI, - Amazon Prime (which went to $99/year last year) basically never goes on sale...but it is on sale today for $72.

Even if you are an existing Prime member, you can buy yourself a gift sub and apply it to your account at renewal time.

I tried Prime for it's free trial month awhile ago, and made the most of it. Would recommend it as well, am actually thinking of signing up again.

What specifically makes it worth it would you say?

I'm in the UK at the mo, and am on the 30 day trial.

I'll cancel at the end of the trial, as the service is streaming only. My internet is too slow to stream in HD, so I need to cache/download a copy for later viewing.

This is available on other services, like BBC iPlayer, so I'm not sure why Amazon don't offer it.

Anyway, my internet woes are unique in UK, but might be more familiar with SA consumers...

Next day shipping is another thing, though I usually forgo that in favour of an Amazon voucher- the product arrives within a week most times anyway :)

I subscribed for a year around Oct 2014. Still not watched anything though. Suppose I will use it a bit this evening.

It's terrific. Really is, and well worth it imo. Feels like the best of netflix and Hulu in one.

Using it now.
Is there a way to tell the search function to ignore the non prime stuff? So annoying searching, finding what you want, then only available to purchase.

Using the app on the Roku.

Edit: also would like to know how to improve quality.
The quality is already pretty good. I was curious how much of my line the stream was sucking up and surprised to see an average of 80KB/s with a peak of around 100KB/s. I expected higher based on the clarity I am receiving.
I have plenty more available so would like to up the quality some more. Just because.

There is an option to just select the prime content. I use it all the time.

Are you referring to the one on the home screen for browsing? Or is there an option in the search function to only search prime?

Edit: Nevermind, found it. Thanks.
