Since my last job, I realized I need papers because capturing data was a good paying job, but we are the first to get the boot. I have done courses in Excel, power-point and word, but those skills are considered low-level to the companies that I handed my CV.

It is why I pulled the plug on my current life and drifted for a couple of months trying to find work before moving back home.

Currently, there is the Google Developer's Certification. It can be done in both Kotlin and Java. For now, but I think this can change. What I don't like it s Google wants more money every 36 months. Not sure what the next one will cost, but the first one is about $149 US, give or take.

I doubt I am going to buy into this. Second one is Oracle Mobile application framework training and certification, no clue what the cost is, I am waiting on an email for the last month.

Any ideas ?

Speaking as an Android Developer, the Google Associate Android Developer certificate is a nice to have, it holds value to some companies but others don't know it exists. I think this is the best one to get if you going for something formal. Yes you would have to redo it every 3 years but that's simply because there is a new Android version every year.

My advice to get noticed as an Android Dev, is to have apps on the store. Whether it be simple or complex as long as you are practicing clean code, know the application lifecycle and making use of Android standards like a Material design you will be ahead of others. Think of it as a portfolio of what you can do. Bonus points if you are addressing a problem with your app.
