Just a heads up when considering the IS basic uncapped option that cost around R499.

I got one to test it out. Speeds seem fine however p2p and Usenet is very strictly shaped. The speeds pick up a bit during the night. Not always though.

After you reach 30GB of usage the connection gets Throttled to 1Mbps or 100kb/s download speed. Upload speed remains at full speed.

With the 1Mbps I'm still able to get +-100kbs with Usenet during the day. But the connection speed is limited to 1024k.

Now You know why they advertise it as 1024k - 4096k Basic Uncapped. :wtf: Just a heads up curtis. :-)

EDIT1: I forgot. This is not Afrihost account though. Its a Plugg.co.za uncapped account. However I don't think it will matter since NexusISP,SAgateway,Axxess,MyISP,Paradigm solution all these ISP's sell the same account.

EDIT2: I have a Mweb 4096k uncapped since 18th March. Yes 2 hours after they launched. This is your best bet if you want uncapped no strings attached. Speeds have slowed some what but you WILL get more bandwidth for your buck with Mweb.

Im currently on 96GB on a IS Uncapped account.

Im getting 200kb per second on HTTP downloads at the current time. During the day I do see a limit of 100kb per second.

I've noticed, since joining MWEB, the speeds have generally gotten worse.
I used to get 300KB/s during the day on usenet, then it dropped to about 200KB/s and then to 150KB/s and then to about 100KB/s and today, it was doing 50KB/s.

So basically, I have actually watched it progressively worse.
The only time it picks up (400KB/s) is about 2/3am and then at drops again at about 6/7am and then at EXACTLY 8am down to whatever speed you're going to get for the rest of the day.

I'm downloading now a 4.3GB linux distro via http in a download manager with 10 connections and it had not once exceeded 100kbs. And its local....

How about the IS uncapped express+ account at around 899, how does this compare
To the mweb account.

What about the IS Fibre 4096Kbps account at around 3000 compare to
Mweb 4096Kbps uncapped unshaped connection at around 1949.

Any feedback
