Hi all,

Looking for some new cover and saw this on the mail my broker sent me. Are all the benefits worth the R155?
Go to the movies a bit. Rarely buy groceries but buy the odd ends at Clicks.

Worth the money?

You'd have to crunch the number yourself. Its very dependent on your own situation.

I use the movie benefit a lot - R25 for a movie is way better than R56. Now and then I get some cash back from PnP and my Clicks cash back is boosted quite nicely. Bought a giant Britney Spears perfume for very cheap with my last 2 vouchers I got :D
But I think its actually the most value for money if you use it for Weight watchers, gym, walk for life etc...

If you use it effectively yes, get good things from the basket of related services like PnP, Clicks related purchase cash backs, Gym 80% discount, 35% from Kulula, free health screening x2 checks(with health tho). all in all.. its not too bad especially if u get it bundled.

I prefer exercising on the mountain and don't spend enough on the other benefits, so made no sense for me to give Discovery any more of my money.

But if you like to bench with the chinas, it seems to make a lot of sense.

Been with vitality for over 7 years. I don't pay that % towards the gym, I get cashback from Clicks and Woolies every month that's more then what I pay for Vitality. Discount on air tickets and movies, makes it work for me.

We get cash back from PnP and Clicks.
More than the monthly fee by a long way.
Plus the movies are a bonus.
My son watches movies for free.
Including the horribly over priced 3D movies.

How much cash do you get back, do you get cash back on junk food?

Movies are covered by edgars as well, for 46 a month you get 10k life cover and cheap movies. It's 25 if you don't take the life cover but i figure for an extra 25 bucks a month 10k life cover is decent. Well more like funeral money i guess :p

I pay R101.00 for gym each month and vitality costs about R134 so thats R235.
Considering Virgin Active fees are about R550 per month im already saving over R300 a month with it.
Also I get between R80-150 per month back from Pnp and Woolworths :)

Each month I receive on average R150 from Clicks and +R350 from PnP.
You need to buy a larger percentage of healthy food or you don't get the discount.
You can buy some junk food as well as long as you have a majority of healthy goods.

For me it is as I fly CPT->JHB->CPT, at least once a month and the 15% i get off there is already around R 120 minimum. I do not buy super healthy food and I receive around R80 back per month, then there is the R250 odd rand I save on my gym membership, and the R30 or so I save on a movie ticket (I go to the movies about twice a month).

So for me it is worth it.

It's definitely worth it to me. I'm on diamond status and get 20% off from ToysRUs, Builders, Incredible Connection, Apple Store etc.

Yup.. i have R1.5k on my PnP card :D

Kinda forget to check it when u already get money back via discovery too.. I get on avg 70 bucks from PnP/Discovery linkage

Yes you need both. Vitality probably isn't worth it without a discovery card, good point.

Just get yourself a polar heart rate monitor and you can still get up to 200 vitality points per day if you exercise properly
