yeah, of course i do my DD. check Takealot, RARU, Evetech, Wootware, and if its within a reasonable bracket I always go wootware. Im also based in cape town.

In my case, still prospecting, when you have to find a laptop(because desktops are outrageous now) under a 24.5k price range that isn't burdened by a 1650 GPU, prospects are slim.

Not that Evetech has been a point of high regard there, lately. But they did stock the Legion 5s for a while, which had a decent price.
 
Someone should find out what car Evetechs owner drives and give him some of his own medicine.

Oh, your BMW came in for a check engine light?! So sorry we can't do anything about that even tho you are on full motorplan. Here is a free car wash coupon that you can only redeem today tho.

Landed here looking up Evetech. They have a mini pc I am interested in. Unfortunately Wootware don't have stock.

Reviews are not too good on Hello Peter either.

What mini PC?

You should check Amazon.com (US) too, I got my Minisforum MS 01 from there as nobody stocked them locally.

I was about to buy this Gmktec evo x1 from Wootware, thought the X2 is overkill... Then came across the MINISFORUM AI X1 Pro-370 Mini PC AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 - Evetech is the only store with stock

And if you check with Wootware when are they expecting stock? As long as their price is reasonable.

Wootware aren't expecting stock of the MINISFORUM products.

They do have the GMKtech Evo X1 which I was about to order. Although the ram is soldered and fixed at 32GB.

Keen to go with Wootware, they are get good reviews and they're around the corner from me, but that minisforum product that evetech have seems to offer more headroom

Wootware do have the EVO X2 - seems like overkill and have read that's a little noisy

I'd just be extra wary about using Evetech for a Minisforum product - they are known to be not the best as QC (check the miniPC subreddit) and Evetech is known to be poor with aftersales so a bad combination.

My first Minisforum MS-01 arrived broken from Amazon, thankfully it is super easy with Amazon to return things and the second one worked fine.

So, I ended up ordering the Minisforum Ai X1 Pro from Evetech with trepidation.

Prior to ordering, they were responsive via email, and answered the phone. I called them a number of times, and must have sounded like a very difficult customer, as I was so skeptical.

I decided to use the collection option and sent TCG to collect and overnight to me. I stay in a rural area and know they use some smaller courier.... Received the PC today and all good so far.

Hoping I won't need after sales, but the orders process was just fine.
Nice that you can reach them on the phone actually.

A lot of people seem to have had bad experiences with Evetech... The company i work for buys a lot of our laptops from them and we have only ever had excellent service. It could be because they dealing with a company but we have never had any issue with them.. Not defending them or anything just stating we haven't had issues most have***

Hellopeter also is not really a good business reference anymore i work for an online e-tailer and the amount of fake hate and that we get on there is unreal. We do contact people when they make complaints and most don't respond or answer our calls, we can't track their orders or profiles so take it with a pinch of salt as well.
