Is Evetech legit?

I can vouch for Evetech's bad service. Their Delivery policy says 2 to 3 working days. Its the 3rd day today and the courier company hasn't received my order from them yet. However i placed an order on wootware just after my order from Evetech and already received it. Wootware is in Cape Town. Evetech is in Centurion. I am in Randburg, Johannesburg. I would not advice to buy from Evetech if you want quick service or can go to the store

Same here, had to go fetch the parcel at courier company on Friday.

Ordered on Sunday, parcel only left jhb On Thursday.

I've purchased a few times from them, the customer service was spot on and deliveries were fast. Will use them again.

Evetech is fine. Use them. Bought a 25K MSI rubbish notebook, 30K PC, various GPU's of which two or more were returned and replaced under warranty.
Laptop warranty/repairs has to go to the supplier, same with other retailers. Enjoy your new laptop.

Absolutely not

What an unbelievably horrible experience buying from these people.
I purchased a mouse from them on the 27th of Feb and paid a courier fee to have it delivered and I am still without a mouse (14 March). They sent me a faulty one which I eventually received around the 5th or 6th of March. I notified them immediately about this and asked what I should do now. They then responded and told me they would need arrange collection that would take up to 3 days. Now 9 days after I've informed them of the faulty mouse (and 10 emails later!) they have the audacity to tell me that I never told them it was packed and ready to be shipped?! I asked them in my original email what I should do now and it took them 9 days to tell me this and that I will be dealing with someone who has the mentality of a child??
Be very careful of dealing with these people. There are many other tech companies out there with much better prices and 100 times better service like Wootware and Computersonly.
I will rather chew my arm of than ever have to deal with these people again.

So why did you buy from them if you knew there were better options?

+1. Some do complain, but 4.3/5 says they are getting it right more than they get it wrong. I can not complain and will most probably buy a laptop from them today.

I hav eonly purchased instore, and have not had to do a warranty claim yet. So good service received allround.

I wonder if people just look at the complaints and go "Geezas, no one gets good service from them, nope Ill use someone else"

Do you think the majority of people that get good service will come post here to tell about their amazing experience? Its always the complaints that get posted, not the good stuff. People on MyBB seem to be very anti-evetech.

I've had good and bad service from just about any place I have bought from, no one is perfect. I agree wootware is awesome, but that means I'm not going to buy from Evetech just because there is a 1 in a million chance I might get bad service.

If we all just got judged on the bad stuff we do, and not the good, what would this world be?

They have a much higher percentage of complaints, both on here and from people I know, since they're based in Centurion.

They are infamous for their grey imports. This is something you will have a bad experience with every time, not just "luck of the draw". Why risk it if there are dozens of alternatives who do it correctly?

Also, for example, someone I know, ordered a headset from them. He picked it up, drove to the office and realised it was the 1.8m one, not the 3m one. When he went back to get the one he paid for, they initially refused, and when he got irate, they wanted to charge him a R50 admin fee.

If that's acceptable to you, that's your prerogative. The rest of us use the freely available alternatives from companies who do it right.

I completely understand that sometimes things don't work out and you get the wrong stuff, its happened to me plenty of times with different places.

I've bought most of my PC upgrades and products for them for the last 3 years, so has a friend of mine. Excellent service and products is all we have gotten from them. I've had a GPU that was dead on arrival and would not show any display, I took it back to them, they tested and replaced it while I was there, no hassles at all.

Rebeltech, Wootware, Loot. None of these do grey imports. For me that is a biggie - if I want to RMA, I don't want hassles.

Ok I know this is an old thread but my experience: Evetech great: product excellent, prices excellent. Bex Couriers, lousy. I struggled with Bex, got evetech involved and suddenly my package was delivered... So evetech os safe to buy from and has excellent service in my opinion, but they really need to partner with a better courier company!

Their courier companies have always imo been bad.

Our Evetech Experience - Horrible!

Beware of Evetech. Do not say you were not warned!

RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE. RUN!!!

If you need customer service stay away. If you want to order built units then stay away. If you build your own platforms and have tons of time to spare while you wait indefinitely for your goods to arrive then I guess they are mediocre at best. Clearly the cheapest prices come at a cost and in Evetech’s case, that cost is integrity and customer service.

We have run an IT related business for 15 years and ordered hundreds of PC related things from multiple suppliers. We have never experienced such a terrible result from any service provider. We will NEVER use Evetech again and I strongly urge you to avoid them at all costs. The small change you save with Evetech is quickly evaporated by the schlep of dealing with their customer service and reliability on what you buy.

I now have the perception that they think customer service is a joke and after reading that my experience is not unique at all, they seem to relish in the bad press with a “FU/Deal With it” attitude towards frustrated clients.

Evetech took significantly longer to have our good delivered in CT compared to what they promised us on their order confirmation. This resulted in a cancelled client order after we paid for the goods, a loss of a hard earned reputation and loss of income.

They never answered their phones. Not once in 6 attempts over 2 days. We eventually just gave up. I now imagine that this is a deliberate tactic. Instead our calls consistently went straight to an automated answering service even though it was mid-morning on a working day.

All our enquiry emails seeking feedback were met with a canned email response telling us of their standard delivery times. These responses were all received at least 48 hours after sending them.

In this case, we ordered two dell laptops along with another PC and a great monitor. When we booted the laptops for the first time and eventually managed to get to the desktop, the laptops were clearly running incredibly slowly (i3, 7th gen). Upon checking the task manager, BOTH HDD’s were running at 100%. With one of the laptops, if you held your ear to the bottom you could clearly hear a high pitch scratching sound from the HDD. These were brand new laptops.

We decided that after our rubbish delivery and communication experience with Evetech, that sending the HDD’s back to them would be an even worse experience and decided to replace their faulty “brand new” HDD’s with SSD’s. This change resulted in a much higher price which means we could have just ordered the same from Frontosa, Mustek or any number of suppliers or even, heaven forbid, Take-A-Lot, and get it in 3 days. In hindsight, we would go this route before ever ordering from Evetech again.

When opening the laptop we identified that both the laptops had been previously opened (brand new laptops). a) there were fingerprints on the cover and chassis and the chassis screws were claerly unfastened before and we can only surmise that they opened them up and replaced the HDD’s with faulty ones most likely under the assumption that we would not want to deal with them. I acknowledge that this is speculative at best, but perceptions are perceptions, and this is not our first rodeo on replacing HDD’s.

To make matters even worse, upon checking the DELL service tag status’s and driver updates, we discovered that the laptops only had 16 and 10 days left on the Dell service warranty which should have been 1 year from date of purchase.

EDIT / ADD: 16/07 - My client has just reported that the fkn zxcvb row of keys on the keyboards are not working.

AAAAAARRRRHHHHHHHGGGG!!!

Beware of Evetech. I am putting my experience down to a 20k lesson to learn that Evetech are not good at all when it comes to delivering customer service or per-built units. DO NOT order fully built PC’s or laptops form these people. Only order parts and build yourselves if you have the patience to wait unjustifiably long wait times in our modern age.

EVETECH!!!! NEVER AGAIN. SIES! HULLE MA SE....
