Is Groupon dying?

Groupon has seen its shares tumble from $20 when it listed on the Nasdaq at the end of 2011, to $8.31 at close on the US exchange on Tuesday. more

It wouldn't surprise me if this "fad" does eventually fizzle out... I don't see it dying, but I don't see it being hugely profitable either at the end of the day.

I would be quite sad to see it go, we have scored some really awesome deals through them :)

I have bought about 3 "deals" from them in the last year and I enjoyed all three experiences. They might have expanded a bit too fast and not have focused enough on quality oferings.

The South African operation is just an aquisition (MyCityDeal / Twangoo) - the article is really talking about the mothership listed on the NYSE. The offerings in the US are usually better (and actually cheaper) than the ones listed here
