No Single Player?
No, there is no campaign in this CoDa and no zombie modes in the Battle Edition. The Battle Edition comes with Blackout (battle royale) which is pretty good to be honest and it comes with the traditional online multiplayer modes. No wall running in this game, thank goodness. There is a caveat, however, and that is that we are limited to SA servers. Where the console players still have a active SA community, the PC community not so much. Some multiplayer modes are even on rotation, especially BR.

The last time I played was around last year and even then I struggled to get lobby. I doubt it is any better now.

So, what do you think, if I gift Black Ops and get the bundle for $6, will I be OK?????

I don't know, I do Humble Bundle Monthly due to the cause. I do, however, complain about the game selection nowadays due to the bait tactics the participating developers are engaging in and IGN is in with that so… but meh, I own 2 CoD copies now. Driftwood.

Your choice.

EDIT:

Just wait for the 2nd reveal and make your decision then and if you decide to keep CoD and you like zombies don't upgrade it outright, Blizzard run discounts a lot.

Thanks. My $6 discount is only valid for 2 weeks. I will not play COD, so doubt anything else will make me happy in this bundle. Think I'll skip for now.....thanks

Question, if you pause your paid upfront subscription can you then continue in a month that there's something worthwhile? Or will it only continue the next month then without knowing what the next month will contain?

Only to watch that sexy lady play games. Only reason I watch Humble Bundle when I get the notification :D

You can pause every month, but have to manually do so.

Yes but if I choose to do so, can I then continue with the current month after seeing what's on offer or do I have to blindly take what's on offer the next month?

Did you buy a year sub, 3 month or month-to-month? If you pause now, you won't get this months bundle (only if you "un-pause" before reveal, but you still won't know what you'll get).
Then the sub will auto un-pause after the reveal (1st Friday of month), for the next months bundle. Then you can decide to pause it again, before the last Friday of a month, if you want to skip that months bundle as well.
Unfortunately, there is no way to get a bundle, after all was revealed.

See that's what I was afraid of. So if I buy a year's sub I can wait till just before reveal but I still would mostly not know what it is and would have to make my decision on a very limited selection. Meh, think I'll stick to GOG where it would take me a lifetime to play through the 450 games I have there already.

So... Humble upgraded the Battle Edition to the Standard Edition. Too many complaints perhaps.

Back in the day they early revealed 2 games, then 1 usually 2 weeks to go. Now, none.

I guess the upgrade is downgrading the bundle... They wanted to get in bed with Blizzard.

Those who already claimed the Battle Edition will have a upgrade key in their purchases.

Got mine, claimed it, ignored it. Doubt I'll play it. I just bought the bundle because of the $6 discount, hoping for something nice in the rest of the bundle.

don't get your hopes up, guaranteed to be small indie games
bigger indie games are normally early unlocks to try and sell the bundle

Activision*
Blizzard is dead.

Lol, they're back at 2017 levels. Note article came out today where Goldman Sachs was saying that they're hedging ATVI to head back up to ~$58 soon. I doubt it though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Battle Edition go F2P in any case. Maybe Humble realised that they need to renegotiate with Blizzard. It is also a sales tactic to boost a developer in any case.

Sadly the upgrade key seems to be a standard key and not an upgrade as they initially said. You could have claimed it on another account and have had 2 keys now, one Battle Edition and one Standard Edition.

Some people were screwed... Basically, Activision gave away one Battle Edition and screwed with Humble. Sad.

Yeah, yeah, same thing except that Bungie moved on. This is a laughable matter with Humble now, Activision clawed into them with corporate greed.

The PC lobbies are dead, they couldn't give the keys away in boxes of Coco Puffs to rejuvenate the playerbase.

They knew those keys were worthless to start with.

Knowing Humble and seeing the monthly bundle value decreasing over time and how they are changing the way how they are early revealing items in the bundle this is likely going to be a bad month to subscribe and probably the worst with more to come.

They messed up with Activision here. Some people now have two copies, others don’t, whatever they are planning to do with the copies. This Standard Edition reveal is now likely acting as the usual early reveal. So yeah… not honest marketing here.

Some people claim, those who upgraded their Battle Edition to the Standard Edition to be compensated by Activision and others aren’t. I doubt that Activision will comment on this as it is a Humble sale and contractually done within their own discretion.

Just bad. This used to be a good deal, now since IGN took over they are sucking on the corporate teet.
