IS International Link Down

Out here in Randburg too - on and off and on again and off again...

...seems to me that at the slightest hint of a thunderstorm all the wheels fall off and International is knackered on IS - has anyone else experienced this routine? There doesn't seem to be a problem when there is no storm... just an observation - oh, and the storm is coming so I better grab my mails quick! :D

Actually I don't think your far off there.. I'm at the north of Midrand and can see all the way to Kempton Park, looking at the storm rolling in.. Does seem that the rain and IS do not make happy bed fellows..

oooh ... constant pings to google.co.za for like 2 minutes already.
YEA baybee ... back online !
Now ... to get the official explanation.
[Note the downtime : must be like one hour exactly ...]

Why is it so frekking hard to keep the bloody thing going? If they can afford a giant billboard on Rivonia Road, they can bloody well afford to put some effort into getting their act together!

Has anyone aside from stoke phoned and complained?

I have a list of unresolved support requests a mile long - most of them ADSL related. A drop of rain falls from the sky, and IS falls to pieces. Local, international, all fcked.
If it was not for the sweet news server, I would have cancelled long ago.

Hey Friends,

It is very sad to see that IS are having these issues with their international link this afternoon.

OpenWeb, however, is hereby extending and invitation for access to our Backup International VPN, to ALL IS subscribers, not just OpenWeb IS subscribers.

If you need to access international sites, please PM me, and I will set you up with the VPN, at 128k, FREE of Charge.

I know how frustrating it can be if you cannot complete your all important work.

It will also help us test our VPN, as it is a new area we are exploring.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

We are currently experiencing a lack of patience affecting our IS ADSL users due to ****ty infrastructure.
